Forward-thinking organisations understand that their greatest asset is their people. At Nightingale, our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is designed to support employee wellbeing while delivering real, measurable benefits to employers. By offering timely, professional support, businesses show their teams they are valued—resulting in reduced stress, improved morale, increased productivity, and stronger employee retention.
What sets Nightingale apart is our personalised approach. Every employee who contacts us receives an initial assessment to ensure they are matched with the most appropriate counselling discipline and therapist for their specific needs. Different issues require different therapeutic approaches, and we take our duty of care seriously. Whether someone is coping with anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, or trauma, they will work with a counsellor who has specialist expertise in that area.
Employees are offered an appointment within 48 hours and can access support in a way that suits them—online via Zoom or Teams, by telephone, or face-to-face at our Glasgow consulting rooms. Confidentiality is guaranteed at all times, allowing employees to speak openly in a safe, respectful environment.
Our EAP covers a wide range of issues including stress, depression, bullying and harassment, trauma, addictions, psychosexual concerns, and relationship difficulties. We also offer additional services such as management counselling, coaching, redundancy support, workshops, and consultancy.
The aim of counselling is not simply to manage crises, but to empower employees to regain clarity, break unhelpful patterns, build resilience, and make informed decisions—helping them return to work feeling supported, focused, and capable.
At Nightingale, we are proud to partner with organisations that genuinely prioritise mental health and wellbeing, creating healthier workplaces where people can truly thrive.

Florence and the team are amazing! I think it is very unique that Florence does not apply a one size fits all approach to employee assistance. Florence has a chat with the individual prior to allocating them a therapist to ensure they receive the correct therapy and therapist for them. So often individuals don’t get the most from therapy as they don’t connect with the therapist. I can honestly say this has never been the experience of my organisation, everyone who has used the service speaks highly of the counsellor and help they were given.

We take the mental health and wellbeing of our team seriously—not just in theory, but in practice. That’s why we partnered with Nightingale Counselling, and I can personally say it’s been one of the most valuable decisions we’ve made.
I’ve been accessing Nightingale’s support myself, and it’s been immensely helpful—both personally and professionally. Having a safe, non-judgemental space to talk through challenges has allowed me to reflect more clearly, navigate pressure more effectively, and ultimately feel more grounded and resilient in the work I do.
It’s not just about managing difficult moments—it’s about safeguarding your wellbeing, building self-awareness, and showing up better for the people you lead and work alongside. Nightingale’s approach is thoughtful, compassionate and rooted in real understanding. It’s been a huge asset, and I’d recommend them to anyone looking to develop not just as a professional, but as a person.
We’re proud to have them as part of our support structure.

Stephen made such a difference to my life when I was feeling overwhelmed and low. He suggested we do CBT together and that was the right choice for me. Stephen was very intuitive and instinctive and seemed to understand what I was trying to convey even if I couldn’t find the words. After only the first session with him I already felt more able to cope, and after our three sessions I felt a hundred times better. Now, a few months down the line, I am still using the tools and techniques Stephen taught me about. He is a star!

When I stepped through the door at Nightingale Counselling, my self-esteem was somewhere between my socks and the pavement. I had some really destructive habits and traits that were unknown to me but were causing absolute havoc in my personal and professional life. My counsellor quickly identified the negative patterns and was able to articulate them in a way that gave me many “light bulb moments”. It was great to be able to openly talk and honestly be listened to, but on top of this I came away with life skills that I will be able to use whenever times get tough. I wouldn’t like to think what would have happened if I didn’t have my time at Nightingale Counselling
