Recruitment

For Associate Therapists

Nightingale Counselling Consultancy and Nightingale Marriage Counselling is a private counselling organisation that has built a great reputation over the last twenty years. We have hundreds of testimonials to reflect our client’s satisfaction.

We pride ourselves on assessing our prospective clients’ challenges and place them with the most effective and appropriate counsellor or psychologist. We also aim to ensure the model of therapy that is selected is best suited to our client’s needs.

Every counsellor, psychologist and therapist remain freelance and will be associates of Nightingale Counselling. They remain independent from Nightingale. We have no issue with you working with other organisations. Since the pandemic and the shifting sands of our profession, we have been delighted to offer work to practitioners further afield that live throughout Glasgow and the UK.

Finding Nightingale Counselling Services came during a point of utter despair and panic – I was at rock bottom and at a loss as to how to cope with the painful emotions and situations I was experiencing in life. After a particularly traumatic time, Florence referred me to Liz, who, from my first session and despite my emotional state, immediately allowed me to feel safe and welcome. Each session is met with warmth and a genuine kindness and interest in my wellbeing, and I have never felt judged or ashamed for how I feel as she approaches my issues in a gentle and caring manner. Even though there are difficult topics to discuss I always leave feeling soothed and calmer and the sessions usually end with laughter about something witty and encouraging. Working with Liz has had a massively positive impact on my life as she guides me on how to take care of myself with compassion and love and I genuinely enjoy and look forward to each session we have.

What we look for in our recruitment process

When we select associate therapists to work with our clients, we are looking for therapists who are qualified to diploma level and beyond. We are always looking for individual cbt and couple counsellors who bring warmth, generosity of spirit, talent, confidence and commitment to the profession. We also look for people who have a sense of humour and can bring a little light to the darkness.

When we see clients face-to-face in our consulting room near Charing Cross, we are confident our clients feel safe, secure, and welcomed when they come to us. Our counselling room is decorated to make you feel at ease. The soft furnishings and lighting are designed to bring our clients into an environment where they feel safe, warm and at ease to begin their journey. If you would prefer to take our client to your own consulting rooms, we can agree to that if the standard is equal to the Nightingale consulting rooms.

If you are interested in freelance work with us, we would be delighted to hear from you. We can have a quick chat on zoom or on the phone and arrange a meeting in nightingale if we feel we have connected.

Contact Florence at florence@thenightingalegroup.co.uk, call her on 0794 643 4045 or use the form on our Contact Page.

If we move forward, we will require:

An up-to-date CV
List of qualifications and training
A record of your monthly supervision
Yearly plan for CPD
Indemnity insurance
You have received personal therapy
Member of a governing body e.g., BACP
