Our Counsellors

Our counsellors are well-qualified, experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing the very best service and therapy.

When life threw us a curveball we quickly adapted, and this has led us to even greater things! When the pandemic struck, we assessed what our clients needed and how we could continue to help them. This has led us to an amazing additional way of working that’s proved to be a real success for our clients and counsellors alike. Apart from our exceptional counsellors in Glasgow who moved online, we were also able to expand our service provision by working in partnership with exceptional counsellors throughout the UK. These counsellors are highly respected in their areas of expertise and are at the top of their profession. We feel extremely privileged to work in partnership with them.

The same is true of lots of the counsellors in Glasgow who work online. They are all associate counsellors who have different areas of expertise and specialisms. Apart from working as associates with Nightingale Counselling they also work in very senior positions within large counselling organisations as counselling supervisors and trainers.

At Nightingale Counselling, we pride ourselves on providing you with a counsellor best suited to your issue. We don’t believe one size fits all when it comes to counselling. By being able to call upon experts from throughout Glasgow and the rest of the UK, we can offer a wider range of services to our clients. This means you will be talking to seasoned professionals, who have a vast amount of experience in dealing with a variety of issues.

If you are a little apprehensive about working with a counsellor or a couple counsellor online, please take advantage of our free 15-minute online consultation with the counsellor you would be referred to. If you don’t feel comfortable, please just let us know and we will offer another route where possible.

Most of our clients are happy to speak to an expert online due to convenience and logistics, but we also work with a few Glasgow based counsellors who see clients face-to-face, in our Glasgow office. These appointments are extremely limited, and we are still restricted to the number of clients we can bring into the building on a given day. We also need to ensure we have more time between clients (to clean the room). There will also be a screen between you and the counsellor.

When you initially contact Nightingale Counselling, your details will be sent to Florence, our Senior Counselling Consultant. She will be in touch by phone to have a chat with you. She will listen to what you want to achieve through counselling, the issues that you want to address, and generally, find out a little bit more about you. She will then assign you the counsellor, therapist, or psychologist best suited to your personality and specific needs. Florence will let you know about their availability either online or face-to-face

All our counsellors and therapists are qualified to diploma or doctorate level and have significant experience in their chosen field. At Nightingale Counselling, we are all governed by a code of ethics and practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, COSCA, COSRAT or the British Psychological Society. We are also committed to continuous professional and personal development to ensure we are offering the most effective and up-to-date therapeutic methodologies.

Working with a specialist counsellor, therapist or psychologist, will bring an immediate sense of relief as they listen, without judgement, and provide honest reflection as you work through your challenges to find comfort and resolution.

The relationship between counsellor and client must be based on trust, empathy, and respect. Sometimes we need to challenge unhelpful patterns of behaviour or thinking, but please be rest assured we all have one aim and that is for you to grow and develop and ultimately feel better.
