Psychosexual counselling is a combination of therapy and teaching client’s different techniques around behaviour and thinking patterns. Clients often feel embarrassed about seeking help and put up with an issue for years. Our psychosexual therapists will immediately put you at ease. They will never judge you or your behaviour. In the first instance, the psychosexual counsellor will gather information to get an understanding of your personal sexual history.
The therapist will assess your personal issue and then design a treatment programme specific to you. Sometimes the therapy will involve tasks specifically designed for you to work through in your own space. The therapist will also set homework and monitor your responses to the homework. In other cases, talking will be the main body of the work if you are struggling with historical sexual abuse, coming out or trauma in childhood.

In my late 50’s my life was a mess, a real unmitigated disaster. Liz helped me to restart on a different path. I have had many different counsellors over the decades and none of them come close to how good Liz is. Sure, she has a vast knowledge of all the things that mess us up and understands the processes of recovery. She is gentle, caring, and above all, makes you feel relaxed. There is another factor… a “Lizness”, that makes sure that the whole is very much greater than the sum of its parts. She is the best. Thank you.
Psychosexual Counselling
Working with sexual issues and problems is very specialised work and should only be undertaken by experienced psychosexual counsellors, who are qualified to Diploma Level and beyond. The COSRT accreditation means after two years of training the sex therapists have passed a criterion that allows them to safely practice in working with sexual issues and problems including sex addiction.
